"Thunder," is a registered kiger mustang.  He is a 2002 14.3 hand grullo Kiger stallion from the Steens Mountain from the Riddle HMA will be offered for breeding by private treaty only to Mustang mares.  Justin started Thunder when he was three years old.  It wasn't soon after starting him, that Justin was racing around everywhere on him and doing anything a horse under saddle can dream of doing.  He is Justin and CoriAnn's  favorite horse to ride on any job.  Thunder is now straight up in the bridle.  Thunder can can turn around, roll back, slide to a stop, do flying lead changes, work a cow, cut out pairs, run the barrels, rope a branding pen, haul in hunting camp; you name it, he has done it.  And, he has done it with the grace and beauty that Kiger Mustangs are known for.

Thunder's first baby to hit the ground was Traveler out of Sunshine a Kiger Mustang from the Riddle HMA.  Montezuma, a grullo stud colt with NO white, out of Thunder and Hi Ho Silver, hit the ground May 1st 2009 and is very stunning (see below)!  This year's colt is Troubadour, he is going to be a dark grullo with no white and is out of Mahanna our Kiger HMA mare.

Though Thunder is in the bridle, he can be ridden in any kind of bit, from a snaffle to a spade. This winter we are hitting the ranch sorting and team penning local shows.  Last winter he took 3rd with Cori in the camp draft.  He has placed at every ranch roping he has been to.  He is an all around solid horse that you can truly say, has been everywhere and done everything.

Accomplishments:

"Montezuma," papers pending, was born May 1, 2009 around 5am.  He is out of Thunder (Riddle HMA) and Hi Ho Silver (Riddle HMA).  He as perfect dark eyes, masking on his face, shoulder markings and leg markings.  This is what Kiger Mustangs are supposed to look like.  Monty halters, leads, trims, loads, hauls and is fun to scratch on and feed treats.  We took Monte to the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo in March and he did great dealing with all of the commotion that went on at that event.  He is a great looking yearling.  --For Sale by Private Treaty!

Troubadour!  Thunder's 4th colt in a Row!!!

"Troubadour," papers pending, is a perfect kiger mustang.  He is out of Thunder (Riddle HMA) and Mahanna (Kiger HMA).  Well we knew he was on his way and we were hoping for a boy and Look at this guy!  He arrived on April 15th on a beautiful sunny morning!  He has no white, and a great big line down his back! All the dark markings in all the right places.  Last year we lost the colt with Mahanna and Thunder, and this little guy makes it all worth it!  You couldn't ask for a better looking colt.  He is already up and around, running and getting too curious for Mahanna's liking!!!  Compare him to the picture of Montezuma above and you can see this little guy is going to be very dark like Thunder and Mahanna.  Troubadour would make a great stud prospect. --For Sale by Private Treaty--

"Pretty Girl," is a 2005 Kiger Mustang, papers pending, that was gathered from the Riddle HMA.  She was the high selling filly at the adoption in Burns, OR in 2007 and was purchased by Virgil & Kathy Bailey. She was started under saddle this November, 2009 and is coming along very well.  You can see the bicoloring in her mane, the ear markings, the mask, and if you click on her link you can see her leg bars, dorsel stripe, and all the characteristics that made her the sought after filly of the adoption.  Look for more pictures soon as she has many days ahead of riding at the Snaffle Bit Ranch.

Click on A Ray of Sunshine for More Pictures!

"A Ray of Sunshine," a kiger mustang from the Riddle HMA is the kiger that inspired the Snaffle Bit Ranch to use kiger mustangs for their ranch horses.  She is the most beautiful horse that has found her home at the Snaffle Bit Ranch.  She carries herself with grace and beauty, and wherever she goes, she is noticed.  Sunshine has been tested in the mountains around Riverton, WY gathering cattle and she has more than earned her keep.  She has been packed and ridden at hunting camp.  She has never been shod.  The feet of a Kiger are made to withstand the rugged mountains.  Virgil rode her everyday for a week in the mountains hunting and she never took a bad step or came up sore footed.  We are happy to take her to any event, competition or local branding and let A Ray of Sunshine show the world the best of the kiger mustang breed.

Click on Mahanna for more pictures!

"Mahanna," a registered kiger mustang mare, was adopted from the Kiger HMA at the November 2007 Kiger adoption held in Burns, OR.  She was in foal at the time of adoption which limited how much we were able to work with her.  Mahanna is quiet and is willing to see if things will sort themselves out before she reacts.  She has no white markings, and is a beautiful Kiger Mustang.  Justin has been working with Mahanna.  He can halter, trim, and lead her, and has used a saddle horse to get her used to seeing him above her.  Justin works with her as his time allows.  She is current on all shots and worming.  --For Sale by Private Treaty!--

Click on Hi Ho Silver for more pictures!

"Hi Ho Silver," a registered kiger mustang mare, was adopted November 2007 from the Burns, OR Kiger Mustang facility.  She is a 2004 silver grulla from the Riddle HMA.  We have started really working with "Hi Ho Silver" to get her gentled.  Currently we can halter her and lead her; and while she is getting brave, she still is leery of people.  She will come up for treats, but her favorite is to take grass from my hand as she doesn't have grass growing in her pen.  Justin recently spent the afternoon catching and brushing out her mane and is also focusing on getting her ready to have her feet trimmed.  She has really filled out and looks good.  She hurt her hip this past winter when she slipped in her pen, so she will remain a brood mare raising colts out of Thunder.   --SOLD!!!--
